Free speech in the first world is, at times, a bizarrely dystopian experience. No more than the application of the Orwellian concept of the Non-crime Hate Incident (NCHI). An NCHI is a “non-crime” but can show up on an enhanced criminal records check! Free Speech Union member Dr Kelvin Wright, a colonel, was forced out of the British army after a transphobia complaint for stating that “men cannot be women”.
Dr Wright has been cleared but his army career is over.
